Ravi Invites a Friend to Dinner at the Supermarket

    Name: ______________________   Date: ____________

Ravi walked into the supermarket after work. He needed to buy food for dinner. He took a cart from near the entrance. The supermarket was busy that evening. There were many people in the aisles. Ravi looked at his list. He needed vegetables, rice, and sauce. He pushed his cart slowly down the first aisle. The vegetables looked fresh and colorful. He picked up some tomatoes and put them in the cart. Then he found some green peppers. He put those in the cart too. He was happy with what he found. Ravi moved on to the next aisle. Then Ravi saw his friend Priya near the pasta. "Hi, Priya!" he said. "What a surprise!" Priya smiled and said, "Hi, Ravi!

I am shopping for dinner too." Ravi looked at her cart. It was almost empty. "Do you have plans for dinner tonight?" he asked. Priya shook her head. "No, I don't have any plans," she said. Ravi smiled. "Would you like to come to my apartment for dinner?" he asked. "I am making a big pot of food." Priya looked happy. "That sounds really nice," she said. "Are you sure it is okay?" Ravi nodded. "Of course! I always make too much food anyway," he said. Priya laughed. "Then yes, I would love to come!" she said. Ravi felt very pleased. They finished their shopping together. Ravi helped Priya find the rice she needed.

He also pointed out a good sauce on the shelf. "This one tastes great," he said. Priya put it in her cart. They walked to the checkout line together. The line was not very long. The sales clerk scanned their items quickly. Ravi paid for his things and Priya paid for hers. They walked out of the supermarket together. Outside, Ravi gave Priya his address. "My apartment is not far from here," he said. "Come at seven o'clock." Priya smiled. "I will be there," she said. "Thank you so much, Ravi." Ravi smiled back. "See you tonight!" he said. He felt happy that he would not eat alone.

Ravi's Dinner Invitation Between the Aisles

    Name: ______________________   Date: ____________

After a long day at work, Ravi stopped at the supermarket to pick up ingredients for dinner. He grabbed a cart near the entrance and made his way through the crowded store, checking items off his list as he went. He was planning a simple but satisfying meal, and the fresh vegetables on display looked exactly right. He selected some tomatoes, green peppers, and a jar of sauce from the shelf, feeling quietly content with his choices. The supermarket was busier than usual that evening, with shoppers moving quickly between the aisles and sales clerks restocking shelves nearby. Ravi was in no hurry. He moved at his own pace, enjoying the rare chance to switch off after a hectic day. It was near the pasta section that Ravi spotted his friend Priya, studying a label on a box with a furrowed brow. "Priya! I didn't expect to see you here," he said, genuinely surprised. She looked up and smiled warmly.

"Ravi! Same to you. I'm just figuring out what to make for dinner." He glanced at her nearly empty cart. "Do you have plans tonight?" he asked. When she shook her head, he didn't hesitate. "Then why don't you come over to my apartment? I always end up cooking more than I can eat on my own." Priya looked touched by the offer. "Are you absolutely sure? I don't want to put you out," she said. Ravi waved off her concern with a grin. "It would be great to have some company.

Come at seven." They finished their shopping together, with Ravi recommending a particular sauce and helping Priya track down the rice she was looking for. The checkout line moved quickly, and they chatted easily while the sales clerk scanned their items. Outside the supermarket, the evening air was cool and pleasant. Ravi wrote his address on a piece of paper and handed it to Priya. "It's only a ten-minute walk from here," he said. Priya tucked the note into her bag and thanked him sincerely. "I'm really looking forward to it," she said. As they went their separate ways, Ravi felt a quiet sense of satisfaction, knowing that what had started as a routine shopping trip had turned into something much better.
