    Nadia and the Wrong Package

    Name: ______________________   Date: ____________

Nadia loves car boot sales. She goes to one every weekend. Today, the sale is in a big open car park. There are many cars and tables everywhere. People sell old books, clothes, and toys. Nadia walks slowly and looks at everything. She has a small bag on her shoulder. She wants to find something special today. The sun is shining and the sky is clear. There are lots of people walking around. Nadia smiles at the sellers. She feels happy and excited. She stops at a table with old games. A man sells them for a very low price. Nadia buys a small box. She thinks it is an old board game. She pays the man and puts the box in her bag. Then she walks to another table.

She sees some nice cups and picks one up. Suddenly, a woman comes to her. The woman looks worried. "Excuse me," the woman says. "I think you have my package." Nadia looks at her bag. She opens it and takes out the box. She reads the name on the box. The name is not hers. The box has a label on it. The label says "Maria" and has an address on it. Nadia is very surprised. She did not know the box was a package. "Oh! I am so sorry," Nadia says. She gives the box to the woman. The woman's name is Maria. She is very happy to get her box back. "Thank you so much," Maria says.

She explains that she ordered something online. The seller at the car boot sale found the package near his car. He put it on his table by mistake. Maria did not see it there at first. She looked everywhere for it. Then she saw Nadia take it. Nadia feels a little embarrassed. But she also feels glad she could help. Maria opens the box carefully. Inside, there is a beautiful small clock. "This is a gift for my friend," Maria says. Nadia smiles. "I hope your friend loves it," Nadia says. The two women laugh together. They both feel good. It is a nice end to a funny morning at the car boot sale.

    The Misdelivered Package

    Name: ______________________   Date: ____________

Nadia had been browsing the car boot sale for nearly an hour, weaving between cluttered tables piled high with second-hand books, mismatched crockery, and forgotten toys. She was the kind of person who enjoyed the unpredictability of these events, never quite knowing what she might uncover. When she spotted a compact, neatly taped box sitting on a corner table, something about it caught her eye. The seller, a cheerful older man, had no idea what was inside it. "Found it near my boot this morning," he said, shrugging. "Thought someone had left it behind." Nadia paid a small sum, tucked the box under her arm, and continued walking. She had barely taken ten steps when she heard a voice behind her.

"Excuse me, that box, I believe it's mine." Nadia turned to find a woman striding towards her with a look of unmistakable urgency on her face. The woman introduced herself as Maria and explained that she had ordered a delivery online, which had apparently been left near the car park entrance by mistake. A passing seller had assumed it was abandoned and placed it on his table without thinking. Nadia glanced at the label on the side of the box, where the name "Maria" was printed clearly alongside a delivery address. Feeling a wave of embarrassment, Nadia handed the package over without hesitation. "I had absolutely no idea," Nadia said, shaking her head apologetically. Maria was visibly relieved and thanked Nadia warmly for returning the package without any fuss.

She carefully peeled back the tape and opened the box to reveal a delicate ceramic clock, which she explained was a gift she had chosen for a close friend. Nadia admired it genuinely, remarking that it was a thoughtful and elegant choice. The two women ended up chatting for a while, amused by the strange sequence of events that had brought them together that morning. By the time they parted ways, they were both laughing about how an innocent misunderstanding had turned into an unexpectedly pleasant encounter. Nadia walked away with nothing in her hands, but feeling as though the morning had given her something worthwhile all the same.
