    Name: ______________________   Date: ____________

Elena worked in a small shop. The shop sold clothes and bags. She started the job two months ago. She liked her work very much. Her boss was a kind woman called Mrs. Hana. Elena opened the shop every morning at nine o'clock. She cleaned the shelves and put new items on display. She helped customers find what they needed. She smiled at everyone who came in. Elena was always careful with her work. She counted the money in the register every evening. She wrote down all the sales in a notebook. She wanted to do a good job. She was happy to work there. Her days were usually calm and easy. One busy morning, a customer came to buy three bags.

Elena was in a hurry. She typed the wrong price into the register. She charged the customer too little money. The customer paid and left the shop quickly. Elena did not notice her mistake at first. Later, she checked the notebook and saw the numbers were wrong. She felt very worried. Her hands started to shake a little. She thought Mrs. Hana would be angry. She thought about hiding the mistake. But she knew that was not right. She took a deep breath. She decided to tell the truth. She walked slowly to the back of the shop. Elena found Mrs. Hana in the small office.

She said, "Mrs. Hana, I made a mistake today." Her voice was quiet and nervous. She explained the problem with the price. Mrs. Hana listened carefully. She did not shout or look angry. She said, "Thank you for telling me, Elena." She said, "Everyone makes mistakes sometimes." Mrs. Hana showed Elena how to fix the error in the notebook. Elena felt much better after that. The Wrong Price

    Name: ______________________   Date: ____________

Elena had been working at a small shop for just over two months, and she was beginning to feel quite comfortable in her role. The shop sold a variety of everyday items, from household goods to clothing, and Elena enjoyed helping customers find exactly what they were looking for. Her manager, Mrs. Hana, had always been supportive and patient, which made Elena feel welcome from the very start. Each morning, Elena would arrive early to arrange the displays and prepare the register for the day ahead. She had developed a reliable routine that kept things running smoothly. Although the work was not always exciting, Elena took pride in being organized and accurate. She had never had any serious problems at work, and she hoped it would stay that way. One particularly hectic morning, everything changed.

A group of customers arrived all at once, and Elena found herself rushing between the shelves and the counter without a moment to pause. While processing a large order of several items, she accidentally entered the wrong price for one of the products, which meant the customer was significantly undercharged. By the time Elena realized what had happened, the customer had already left the shop. She felt a wave of panic rise in her chest as she stared at the receipt and compared it with the correct prices on the shelf. Her first instinct was to quietly fix the numbers in the system and hope nobody would notice the difference. However, after thinking it over for a few minutes, she knew that hiding the mistake would only make things worse in the long run. Elena approached Mrs. Hana in the back office and admitted what had happened, explaining every detail honestly even though her voice trembled slightly. To her great relief, Mrs.

Hana responded calmly and without any sign of frustration. "I appreciate you coming to me with this instead of trying to cover it up," Mrs. Hana said, nodding thoughtfully. She then walked Elena through the process of correcting the error in the system, turning the situation into a valuable learning opportunity. Mrs. Hana also suggested that Elena could create a quick checklist to use during busy periods, so that similar mistakes could be avoided in the future.
