    Story

Zanele woke up early on her first day at her new job. She felt excited and a little nervous. She put on her uniform and looked in the mirror. Her uniform was a bright blue shirt and dark trousers. She ate a small breakfast and drank some water. Then she walked to the beachside shower area. It was a sunny morning and the air smelled like the sea. The shower area was large and very clean. There were many shower stalls in a long row. There was a small office near the entrance. Zanele walked inside and looked around slowly. She saw buckets, mops, and bottles of cleaning liquid on a shelf. There was also a sign on the wall with the rules.

She read the sign carefully and tried to remember everything. A woman named Rosa came to meet her. Rosa was the supervisor of the shower area. "Good morning, Zanele," said Rosa with a big smile. "Welcome to your first day!" Zanele smiled back and said, "Thank you. I am happy to be here." Rosa showed her where to find the cleaning supplies. She also showed her the schedule on the board. "You will clean the showers every two hours," said Rosa. Zanele listened carefully and wrote notes in a small book. Rosa showed her how to mop the floor safely. She said, "Always put a wet floor sign down first." Zanele nodded and said, "I understand." Then Rosa showed her the lost and found box near the door. "People sometimes forget their things here," said Rosa. Zanele looked inside the box and saw a pair of sunglasses and a towel.

After the training, Zanele started her first task. She cleaned the first shower stall carefully. She used a brush to scrub the walls and the floor. Then she mopped the floor and put it the wet floor sign outside. A beachgoer walked in and said, "Excuse me, is this shower free to use?" Zanele smiled and said, "Yes, it is ready for you now." The person said thank you and went inside. Zanele felt proud of her clean work. She moved to the next stall and started again. Rosa walked past and gave her a thumbs up. "You are doing a great job, Zanele," she said. Zanele felt warm and happy inside. By the end of her first morning, she had cleaned all the showers in the row. She sat down for her break and drank some cold water. She thought to herself, "I really like this job."
