    Common Patterns of Nominalisation

    1. Verb → Noun (-tion, -ment, -ance/-ence)

    Many verbs become nouns by suffixes like -tion, -ment, -ance, or -ence.

    investigate → investigation, achieve → achievement, appear → appearance, differ → difference

    2. Adjective → Noun (-ness, -ity, -cy)

    Adjectives transform into nouns using suffixes like -ness, -ity, or -cy.

    happy → happiness, complex → complexity, private → privacy

    3. Verb → Noun (Zero Derivation)
