A New Life in the City

When Maria was young, she used to live in a small village. She used to walk to school every morning and play in the fields after class.

Her family used to grow vegetables in their garden, and they used to have dinner together at sunset every evening.

Now Maria lives in a big city. She didn't use to like the noise, but she's used to it now. She works in an office and takes the train to work.

Sometimes she misses the village. "Did you use to prefer the countryside?" her friend asked. "Yes, I did," Maria replied, "but I love my new life too."

Maria's story shows how 'used to' connects our past experiences with our present reality — highlighting the changes that shape who we are.
