    📖 A Strange Evening

Last night, I was walking home from work when I heard a loud noise.

While I was looking around, a cat jumped out from behind a bin.

I laughed and continued walking, but it started to rain.

While I was running to find shelter, my phone rang — it was my friend inviting me for dinner!

Notice how Past Simple describes completed events and Past Continuous sets the scene!
