The Story of the Helpful Friends

Imagine you are at school. Your friend Tom needs help with his homework.

You say: "I can help him." (him = Tom)

Tom's sister Sara arrives. Tom says: "She can help us too." (us = Tom and you)

Sara brings her books. You say: "I need them." (them = the books)

After studying, Tom says: "Thank you! You really helped me." (me = Tom)

Notice how we use different object pronouns depending on who or what receives the action. This is the key to mastering object pronouns!
